WASHINGTON, D.C. — Though some residents are irritated by them piling up around several spots in D.C., the scooters currently on the street are extremely popular.
But the streets at least are about to get busier. A pilot program with two companies, Revel and Muving, will soon allow 400 mopeds.
They have to be on the streets not the sidewalks, and riders must wear helmets. They travel up to 30 miles an hour.
